B-Engine Magazine Launches to Spotlight Local Businesses and Community Stories

Sijsele/Damme, West Flanders — [July, 2026] — B-Engine Magazine, a new community publication celebrating the people, businesses, and stories of the region, will launch its first issue in Q3 2026, alongside a sponsorship and advertising program designed to give local businesses a lasting voice in the community.

Founded by Maria 'Jana' Iguiron, B-Engine started as a simple idea: the region is full of businesses and stories worth telling, but few local platforms exist to tell them well. Built alongside a small team of volunteer contributors (John Roque & Richael Massido), the magazine will combine print and digital storytelling with a tiered sponsorship program — from a simple logo placement to full-page features — so businesses of any size can support and be featured in the publication.

"I wanted to build something that gives our local businesses and community members a real spotlight — not just an ad, but a story. At the same time, our magazine is open to advertising for local Belgian businesses," said Jana, founder of B-Engine Magazine. Working alongside John Roque, the magazine's volunteer article writer, she added: "This started as something we worked on in the evenings, alongside a full-time job and a growing family. Seeing it come together with real local support has been the most rewarding part."

B-Engine is built by a small, dedicated volunteer team alongside Jana: Mark Uy, full-stack developer, built and maintains the upcoming New Website of B-Engine; John Roque writes many of the magazine's original stories and features; and Richael Massido has been instrumental in shaping the structure and operating process behind B-Engine.
